By Air: Anini has no airport of its own. The nearest airports are Dibrugarh and Guwahati (Assam), from where travelers must continue entirely by road. A helicopter service also connects Itanagar to Anini via Roing for those wanting to skip the long road journey. By Rail: The closest railway station is Tinsukia in Assam, well connected to most major Indian cities, with several Rajdhani trains stopping there. From Tinsukia, travelers drive onward to Roing and then Anini. By Road: From Dibrugarh, drive to Roing (roughly 4–5 hours via well-maintained highways), the headquarters of Lower Dibang Valley and the essential transit point. From Roing, it's about 235 km to Anini, crossing Mayodia Pass and Hunli, taking roughly 9–12 hours by shared Sumo or private taxi. A private SUV is strongly recommended, as the winding mountain roads are rough and only suited to sturdy vehicles. There are no direct buses, trains, or flights straight into Anini — reaching it always means a private vehicle or shared Sumo from Roing. Waterfall & Nature Highlights: Visit Mawu Waterfall for a misty picnic, drive to Mayodia Pass for panoramic Mishmi Hills views, trek the scenic Seven Lakes Trek, and explore the Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary, home to the Mishmi takin, red panda, and clouded leopard. Entry Permits: Indian nationals need an Inner Line Permit (ILP), obtainable online or on the spot at Arunachal's entry check-gates; foreign nationals require a Restricted/Protected Area Permit (PAP).
