From the airport, travelers hire taxis or buses for the onward journey. By Rail: Mizoram has no direct railway network. The nearest railway station is Silchar in Assam, about 300–345 km away, from where travelers continue by road via Aizawl. By Road: From Aizawl, Lunglei is about 170 km away via NH-54, taking roughly 5.5–8 hours by car, taxi, or regular bus services, depending on road conditions. The well-maintained roads offer scenic views of hills and valleys along the way. NH-54 connects Lunglei to other major towns in Mizoram and neighboring states, with regular buses and taxis widely available. Local Highlights: Don't miss the Lunglei Rock Bridge at Nghasih Stream (where early missionaries baptized the first Mizo believers in 1904), Thorangtlang and Saza Wildlife Sanctuaries (home to leopards, tigers, and diverse birdlife), the Chhingpuii Memorial House honoring the celebrated Mizo poet and freedom fighter, Kawmzawl Park for hilltop views, and the historic Lunglei Christ Church.
