By Air: Ziro has no airport of its own. The nearest options are Lilabari Airport near North Lakhimpur, Assam, about 100–125 km away, and Itanagar's Donyi Polo (Hollongi) Airport, a similar distance, both with limited flights via Guwahati and Kolkata. Guwahati's Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, roughly 360–450 km away, offers the widest flight connectivity, followed by a road journey. By Rail: The nearest railway station is Naharlagun, near Itanagar, about 100 km away, connected to Guwahati via the overnight Donyi Polo Express and to New Delhi via a weekly train. From Naharlagun, shared taxis or Sumos cover the remaining 3-hour journey to Ziro. By Road: From Naharlagun, it's roughly a 3-hour drive to Ziro through scenic hills and tribal settlements. From Guwahati, direct night buses run by the Arunachal Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation take about 7–9 hours (though only a few days a week). From Lilabari or Itanagar airports, it's a further 3.5–5 hours by taxi. Entry Permits: Indian nationals need an Inner Line Permit (ILP), obtainable online or from Arunachal Pradesh government offices in Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Shillong, or Tezpur. Foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit (PAP).
